I created an account yesterday and played a few hours (on P99) but when I tried to connect today, I get first :
"Logging in in the server" followed by :
"A connection to the server could not be reached ... etc".
So I don't even get to the server selection list.
My name (Magus6) and the PW are correct and I do have an Internet connection (as this post shows).
The servers are up too.
What can be the problem ?

This has nothing to do with P99. Why should I post there ?
I do not get the server selection screen.
So the problem is not related to any specific EQ server be it P99, Hidden forest or whatever.
When I launch EQemu, I type in my name and PW and get the "A connection to the server cannot be reached etc" message.
It worked the first time I created an account but doesn't do so anymore.
So I would like to get an advice about what's happened and how to fix it.

if this is what I think it is, every 10 seconds or so it tries fails tries fails tries fails.
right click the window pain and select play everquest only

Yes it is that.
So I rightclick and select Play Everquest only, it stays a few seconds and then I get the login screen, I type Name and PW and then the server selection screen doesn't appear and I get the message I already quoted "A connection to the server cannot be reached etc" instead.

i am getting the same kind of problem. I got eq titanium... installed it, edited host file, change the client.ini, and go to run eqgame.exe with 'patchme' instructions. Everything is going good, program starts... I log in. BOOM, first time logging in, and I see all the servers. I am getting giddy, the thought of slaying bats and orcs outside of kelethin once again.
Go to log on to P99, get to character select and it says spells are outdated blah blah blah. So no P99, I'll try a diff server (I'm too excited, can't delay any longer) So I exit. After exiting, no more servers listed on the server select. I'm running it through wine on Linux Mint Petra... All was going good, and then now for some reason I cannot find a server to play on. I can log in no problem :(
