I server basically went offline last week. I thought it was the ISP, my modem was acting up so I got it replaced this morning. Sure enough my server still cant be seen outside my WAN.

I got port 5998-5999 open with IP of server machine (its dynamic)
I got port 7000-7500 open with IP of server machine
I got port 9000 open with IP of server machine
I got port 9080 open with IP of server machine

When someone attempts to login they get to char select screen then go belly up. I do ever see anything in the log files to debug.

Does anyone know a way to test this issue when using a PC that is on the WAN? Is there a way to trick the modem to think it is external?

If anyone ever goes through this fun again, please go to ipmango. It will be able till test a port to see if it is open. It took my ISP 4 hours to get port 9000 open.

Several things. One modem had out if date firmware but I don't think that was it. First major issue was modem firewall had to be on. Virtual server was set to port 9000 and 7000 to 7100. I was told by expert that I should not set anything else besides the virtual server. To test your ports go to IPMANGO and test 9000. Now if it shows open you are good else you need more work. Ports 7000 and 7100 will show closed. This is not an issue since until you are logged onto the server (remotely) it won't be listening to ports 7000 to 7100. Hope that helps.
