Hi. I have recently set up my first server and I wanted to know what kind of vulnerabilities this exposes me to and how I can protect myself. It's running on my home internet connection.

I am concerned that these servers can attract problem people. Someone who would get vindictive because you had to ban them for being an asshat. I don't want them breaking into my home network and messing stuff up.

So what are the risks with hosting a server from you home internet connection?

Maceblade got his database and quests deleted by someone, I'm not sure if it was server-related. If I may give you some tips: Have a secure password to your database, don't give anyone database access unless you've known them for a long period, make backups of your scripts and database on a thumb drive or another computer. Hopefully some of those tips help you.
