cant get it to work

I am a first time user and when I first tried it I would get to the login screen type my info and then when it got to server page it would crash.

Well I downloaded the so called "fix" to try and fix this problem. Now It says my password or username is incorrect.

Did this happen to anyone else or can someone tell me what I did wrong?

How did you fix this? I'm having the same problem. I'm doing a search for this and I haven't found anything yet. Normal EQ works no problem, and I can login to other people's servers with no problems. But for some reason when I login and get to the server selection a window pops up saying

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor."

EDIT: I figured it out. It was a problem with my server name.
