Alrighty, I've been playin EQ Live for a long time now, and I've gotten the emulator to work just fine, no problems...one day, about a week ago, I go to log into the emulator, (hadn't changed a thing since last time) and all of a sudden, when I click to go into loading for char select, it says "EQGame has caused an error in 'eqgfx_dx8.dll'"...this has happened to me before, but I only fixed it by tampering with files that I didn't know existed and probably shouldn't have been tampering with...

Therefore, my question simply is: Has this ever happened to anybody else? And if so, how do I fix it? Since I haven't the slightest clue what caused it, I can't post any info relating to it. I mean, obviously it's a Direct X file, and the solutions I've tried so far are the following:

I deleted the eqgfx_dx8.dll from the eq directory and repatched to get it back...still didn't work. I also downloaded the latest version of DX8...also didn't work. That was all I could think of to fix this.

Sorry bout postin for help...normally try to fix things myself, but I just can't get this one! Thanks!

I vaguely remember getting that error once. I'm not sure I remember what I did to fix it.
Make sure your eq client is updated. make sure you are using the latest version of the emulator and database. Shut down any unnecessary applications. Make sure your Video card drivers are current. Also; can you play on the live servers,
can you play on any of the 'green' eqemu servers?

It would be easier to help if you posted more info. Follow this link and post the appropriate info next time.
