Should the #zone command be available, or no? (All zone points would be working accordingly and NPCs could be setup in place for boats, etc.)

If it's going to be a legit type server and there are npc teleporters to make up for boats, then I don't see the need for the #zone command unless you're a gm. Getting from point A to point B is half the game imo.

but it's also the most annoying feature in the game ...

thank god for druids, wizards, sow and rs3

*added:*
since server population would be kinda small, its not guaranteed that you can get transportation when you need it, and taht could get very frustrating indeed.

so either implement something to compensate for it, like NPCs that gate you from one druid ring/wiz spire to another or leave the #zone in the game.

The TP location to TP location idea sounds good:)

Maybe also an NPC outside every city? Like the PoP book but no going to PoK (or wherever it takes you, I don't know a lot about PoP).

*edit*
And if there's other aspects of traveling that's hard...maybe quests for rez potions, corpse summon potions, invis potions, SoW potions, etc.

I can't see anything interesting in the #zone command... If you want to play "like" eqlive... I'm waiting something like this to play eq for more than one year now and I'll be happy to see it :p
If you could remove #summonitem #level and #setallskill it could be ##### kewl too :))

This goes along with the other post which is removing all of that, as for transportation, I understand, we will think of ways. (It might not be free though)

I like the idea of NPC that will gate you to other areas. And as far as charging, go for it. It is one reason that i liked EQLive, getting enough money for that next item or for that port to an area across the world

remove some commands are good, but if we don't have enough epople on the server it will suck quit alot, because you will mainly be soloing most of the time... as for items hmm, hard to decide
if we need money and creat a economy, we need more people to start, for few days most i see is 5 character or something and most of the time the server isnt up : (
keep up the good work image!

I'd rather a devoted group of people to play with, who're actually looking to PLAY on a server, rather than just run around PVP and smacking each other with hacked items. e_e There'll always be a server for stuff like that, fooling around and looking at things, and I don't think that the really good server, Image's, should bother with that. Hell, you don't even need another person on a server to do shit like that.

But that's just my opinion. I like #zone, but intergrated with the other changes I don't. Ohwell.

Back in 'the day' (6 months ago) we were talking about cool custom servers. Ones based on LOTR, classic settings, etc. My server name for instance, The Halls of Paranor, is based on the Sword of Shannara series by Terry Brooks. Once things come a little further, I'm planning on creating custom content out the waazoo. Those will be the play servers, not the goof off machines. Anyone can run one of those, I want a unique experience for those that log on.

We're almost there...

Once the addictive qualities (levels and loot) are put back in, I think you'll see a lot more play. Until that happens city->city teleporting items (sold by NPCs) are a good alternative, but only if you can figure out how to flag them so that they vanish if you zone.

The main problem with #zone is that it's instant, requires nothing, and completely eliminates the danger involved in travel or combat. It would also make griefing a lot easier.

As is the server is in a testing phase. After a pwipe and some rules changes, #zone would kill the fun of the game.

Here's hoping it's all legit soon...

Yep, i have to disagree with the #zone command. It takes away the fear of dieing, the risk in soloing. With a #zone command its like every shlub has an evac spell, i myself have never played a wiz or druid on live, but i know that it would take away certain apsects if i decide to solo, get my ass whooped and just #zone out. That is what gives players caution, also, that is a big part, not knowing where you are, getting lost in zone for an hour waiting for a porter to come, having to use /loc to find your way to a point you found on eqatlas.com.

Also, you know we will have trouble with numbers on the server, i feel it is better to have 15-20 players, i will see daily when i decide to play, then to see a ton of idiots that are just around being jerks.

On an end note- Image, you are the man, keep up the good work. I think im gonna reinstall EQ for this one man. Thanks.

Sorry to post again but, I didnt get a chance to vote image, so you can add me to that No choice, to even up the score ;)
Also, you should tweak the mobs so it is best for grouping, i mean eq sucks without grouping. I know there will be people soloing way up there but its your decision.
Also, as we get better equipment, if you can and i know this will be tough but see if you can make the mobs harder, like i know in eq wheni was playing i could solo anything up to level 30 with a twink. Once we get players up in the 40's maybe we should level up the mobs, or no, just add more hps and ac?
Another suggestion is that, dont add in every item in the game right away, the game would be better if it was like eq original at first, and slowly progressed to eq in its current state, like... just make SSOY for example a good weapon, instead of handing out things like petrified heartwood flame.

All suggestions that i would like to see in effect, i know your a busy guy with all the things your doing.
