Hiya,

Ive just set up a private server and a VM windows 7 box, as far as i am aware it is all compiled correctly.

The issue i am having now is i have set my main pc eqhost to the ip address and port of the server that is hosting eq and attempt to login with the "account" information in the peq database, but the server comes back with
a connecton to the server cannot be reached.

I have checked the forums and read through and troubleshooted but am now posting, i have checked all firewalls, so they are fine.

When u click start.bat and the cmd boxes pops up, are they all suppose to return positive connections? queryserv just stays at connecting to mysql.

Or any other ideas would be great, thanks.

I'm running my server on a net book and the game on my desk top (trying to at this time) but i might be able to help a bit. What the guide says is to set your EQ game to 127.0.0.1 and that works if the game is on the same comp as your server. If you want to LAN party your going to need to set your Servers comps personal IP address. I used this site http://www.tp-link.us/article/?id=14 and then set your EQHost file to that IP address. Hope that helps.

On my personal server, I am using a laptop without using a VM, I had to hard set my IP address. primarily to set the port forwarding on my router. I am also running a VM machine on my PC. My VM machine also had a problem with connecting to the network. VM's don't seem to like sharing the NIC card, well the one I am using anyway. I had to setup a bridge connector, fortunately I have a second NIC that it can use exclusively. My VM machine is Oracle VM VirtualBox. Hope this helps.

Pretty sure you need a loginserver, to actually log in, then you access your server......

The blind leading the blind.
