I'm posting in this board because I think it's a clientside issue. (I've enabled mercs as described here (http://wiki.eqemulator.org/p?Enabling_Mercenaries) and restarted the daemons - and tried it on a handful of other servers, all with the same results.)
From what I've been able to find, it sounds like mercs are still in development, but do mostly work if enabled. The problem I'm having is that I simply can't get the merc vendors to even show me a list of available mercs. I'm using the Underfoot client that's linked from the EZS starter guide (as far as I can tell that's the EQEmu recommended client based on the getting started guide (http://wiki.eqemulator.org/p?Play_Guide:_Getting_Started)?)
My first thought was that it's a UI problem - maybe missing the merc UI files entirely. I do get the incompatible UI message when I log in. I've tried a bunch of other UIs though (most of them were incompatible enough that they didn't even load), but all to no avail.
At this point I'm just unsure where else to continue troubleshooting. Any input is appreciated.
