We noticed that in Underfoot when in water and stationary you do not sink, but in Titanium you do. Is this server side or client side? Or is this something that changed during a certain expansion?

That kind of sounds like something that would be client-side like the arc of falling and stuff. Maybe players were drowning too much? Haha.

I am thinking it is client side, but I wanted to make sure. Anyone have fond memories of drowning in that era? What about on p1999, do you fall there when over water?

Would make sense if you floated while you had endurance, but sank if you ran out.

Well it totally makes sense to me that you sank. Remember all of the people that fell off the boat back in the day and drowned?

One could say that the player animation is treading water so it's not going to just sink but stay buoyant at current location.

I definitely remember that when the game was still new, if you ran out of stamina, you sank. I thought it was awesome. Apparently at some point it was decided that it was inconvenient.

I did notice something last night when playing with Titanium. If you are playing windowed mode and the window has focus, you do not sink. If you click away and the window loses focus, you sink.

Ah, that's the falling glitch. Low framerate causes you to sink with lev, too, and causes falling damage to be higher than it would be with a higher framerate. Something about it calculating fall/sink distance over time and doesn't take into account framerate. A lower framerate means you're falling for a longer time with each second.
