Read this to see if it applies to you: http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=36423

It's also not the best idea to even mention P99 in these forums as I get the feeling it's a sore spot for some people. Maybe that's why you posted, touche.

I see why you made the reference.

So, you play with the three different clients and on all three you have been unable to see any servers at server select.

Did you recently install or have you been able to login to a server and play?

Did you follow the setup guide?

As stated multiple times before, due to how common this issue is, packet loss is a major dictator as far as your ability to see the server list. Your ISP may have packet loss from the loginserver to you, which would keep you from seeing the list correctly, or even at all.

They all worked 2 days ago, played on THF server EZserver, and Imperium

Yeah, it's likely just a periodic thing, not a permanent issue.

Project 1999 issues aren't a sore spot..we just don't handle them on these forums because we are not Project 1999.

They, as well as many other servers, use the EQEmu public login server.

If there's an issue with the public login server that affects multiple servers, then it is appropriate to seek assistance here.

Otherwise, help should be sought through support channels for the affected server.

That is with the UF client
same goes for the ROF2 client and titan client

Hehe! We believe you..but, one person having an issue doesn't constitute an actual issue with the server...

There are previous posts about this:

I would start with a simple computer reboot.

If that doesn't work, try a complete network reboot:
- turn off all devices on the network, including internet modem (tell your wife her tv is about to go down for a couple of minutes)
- wait ~20 seconds
- turn on modem and allow it to cycle up
- turn on any routers that lie between your computer and the modem; allow them to cycle up
- turn on your computer
- attempt to log in to the public login server (did this fix the issue?)
- log out of the game completely
- turn on any other network devices that you have attached and allow them to cycle
- log back into the public login server (is the issue back?)

There can also be packet loss/high latency that causes issues like this.

These issues are much harder to trouble-shoot unless you have experience in doing so. A lot of times, your isp is the culprit for such issues..especially
when they appear out of the blue.

For any fix like this, I do not recommend a re-install of your game..or os..unless you are 1000% that the issue lies in the current install.

This is truth. I have played with VPN services turned on, and sometimes I had the exact same problem connecting through my VPN via the West Coast, but the moment I switched to the East Coast node, everything was fine.

It really does seem to be weird network connectivity problems somewhere in the backbone. Many of the complaints come from Comcast customers, but my experience was with Time Warner.

Not likely to be of much help but: I made a little GUI app which just attempts to connect to the login server and spit out the servers it is told about. May at least be able to determine whether the problem is in the client or the connection/login server.

As an example, I don't see anything on server select 99% of the time when trying to run the Titanium client on Linux (Mint), but I can see servers fine when running this tool with wine, so it must be a problem in the client and/or the version of wine I'm trying to run it with.
