I want to first start off by saying thanks for all the help you guys have given so far. There appears to be a great community here and it is greatly appreciate it. I hope one day I can contribute in some form.
Let me know if it is general preferred to have multiple threads of single topics versus one thread with multiple topics like this one. I try and not have the appearance of a spammer.
I use a new windows server build from 4-18-2016. I test everything on both a RoF and UF client. For the below I also copied over my VM and ran every single update using eqemu_update.pl. It did break my bots but the purpose was to verify if the below was a problem with something being outdated.
1. Charms do not work. They display item descriptions but do not have any stats. They also do not change the stats of my character. I checked just in case it was a display bug or something.
2. For spell effects, some focus effects and several AA abilities, I get Unknown DB String messages. The UF client will often show a completely wrong spell on an item. Had a newbie weapon showing a 4000 nuke proc. I had a posted before about detrimental focus effects showing zero in the item descriptions and I am thinking all of the above items are potentially linked somehow?
In the thread about the focus effects someone mentioned spells_us.txt (Which mine is empty but my spells_en.txt is not) and another knowledgeable gentleman, dbstr_us.txt? If so, is there a way to generate, or a place to download, a proper version of these files that is compatible with base installations of EQEmu for both the RoF and UF client? I have not and currently do not plan to modify any spell, AA abilities or foci.
3. The next part could definitely be my lack of knowledge on content. I haven’t played EQ in 5 years and haven’t done LDON even longer.
I have been unsuccessful in getting LDON raids. The raid recruiters do not respond to me, hails or right clicking, but the adventure recruiters do. I have tried South Ro, North Ro and Everfrost so far. I have set MinNumberForRaid and MinNumberForGroup to one and restarted the server. I have also invited a friend to a raid to test. I notice even after the change it still required two people to get a group mission. I assume my problem is not enough actual people in the raid? I did summon bots and not sure if they count here.
4. With number 3 out of the way, I gave up and summoned Shard of Eternal Pain to test out. I always wanted one of those on live and never got to test one out. The problem is that when it tries to pro I get the error message “Unable to find data for pet SwarmPetLDONSar.” This is the only proc I have had issues with. The shard does show in the database. I assume there is a possible data entry error for Shard of Eternal Pain?
That is it for now and I realize it is a lot. I don’t mind doing some leg work so feel free to suggest me testing something, or trying something out, then reporting back my findings. I try and research online before posting questions and have solved a lot that way but the above I haven’t found any solutions.
As usual, thanks in advance for taking the time to check out my post and help out.

I had a nice lovely young lady send me a private message about number 2. She let me know that I could run export_client_files.exe to generate the spells_us.txt and dbstr_us.txt files. I ran the program and generated the files without error. The spells_us.txt file was around 28 megs and the dbstr_us.txt file was completely empty except for Major^Minor^String(New). I copied these two files over, overwrote the ones in the client directory and then tested. Sadly, this broke all foci and AA. Every single item then had the Unknown DB message.
The part that has me curious is before all this my spells file was completely empty and the dbstr file has a lot in it. Now it is the opposite.
Is my server exporting properly? I will test cloning my VM again and again doing another full update to see if that changes anything.

It sounds like you have some major database issues. I'd start with a fresh database and make sure you do everything correctly.
Last I knew, ldons cannot be set to 1 person as its client sided. You should deal with this issue last as it isnt a database issue like the others.

I will build a new VM today and do everything from scratch to test. I shall report back.

I was noticing with a Raid Recruiter in Everfrost named Qileour Bahiael. Has a script in quest folder for "mirb". NPC won't respond simply with the adventure stone in your inventory. grabbing a regular adventure and zoning in to that will auto add the stone to your keyring (41000), then after that Quileour will respond to hails. I had the "min raid" set to 2 in the rule values and this npc had no prob giving it to my two testing toons after the keyring thing. (script calls for keyring check)
That is the only raid recruiter I have found (so far) that will do anything.

That very well could be it. I have not actually completed or done a mission. I will test that later. It very well could be that simple. Thanks for the information.
EDIT: I just noticed you said that was the only raid you found that worked. Hmm. Maybe someone else will chime in with their experiences with this.

My thoughts are 2 steps ahead on that one. Unfortunately, I noticed, (which is understandable) that successful server owners could be reluctant to give out secrets. (chuckle), so we're left to google everything and with no results, our hair falls out. :P

Not all the LDON raids are implemented.
SwarmPetLDONSar is on PEQ, not sure about the most recently released DB though.

Just the answer I needed, they all are not implemented. Do you know which ones are? Or is this a thing of checking the directory and seeing which NPC has a file?
The item entry for the shard is there and the SwarmPetLDONSar shows in the item entry as well. It is why I believe it is possible there is a potential typo. I am currently building up a fresh server to test some things to see if somehow I was unlucky and my three week old database got corrupted. Hopefully it will not be too much longer.
EDIT: I am going by the wiki and 8-12-2015 seems to be the newest PEQ database I was able to find.

Thank You Mr Demonstar, it helps a lot simply knowing that, just so we're not googling the fingerprints off our hands with dead ends (chuckle).

Okay, I have rebuilt a new server from scratch and also tested a month old AKKA prebuilt package. I get the exact same results. Charms do not work and when I try to use the export client feature, it still creates a 28 meg spells file and an empty dbstr file except for the following entry, Major^Minor^String(New).
At this point it seems to be an existing problem for the above items. In AKKA's installation the Shard of Eternal Pain appears to be working. Not sure why it doesn't work in any of mine.

I just tried the Shard of Eternal pain on a fresh new server install (not a prebuilt one), sourced a fresh db in and with underfoot client, the aug clicky worked fine. I put the aug on a 65 chanter using Serpent of Vindication weapon.

Could you test two other things then for me? See if charms work for you. Something like the lost coin should be a good test. Also, create an export folder in your C:\Eq\EQEmuServer and run export_client_files.exe and see what size your dbstr_us.txt file is?
Thanks for the help so far!
EDIT: Do you vary much in your procedure from the Wiki write up?

Just equipped that lost coin id 80088 ? If that's it, it gave me stats, nothing great.
Hp 6, Mana 8, etc. The dbstring I got is 4.2 MB

OH WAIT, Sorry, the dbstring I copied over from my client and imported it to db. I do that with every fresh install.

I did a bit more testing and researching last night and think I have some information that may help you guys figure out what is happening on my end. Hopefully the length of this thread hasn’t turned people away from viewing it. I feel we are really close now to figuring out what simple step or file is missing.
Too keep it simple I one tackle one problem at a time. Maybe solving this will solve the other poblems.
On the problem of the LDON Shard of Eternal Pain, none of my fresh installs had the proc working correctly but it did work in AKKA’s install. I took and did a search in his database for SwarmPetLDONSar, and then mine, and noticed some key differences. He had entries in Pets and NPC_types and mine did not. I only had the actual item and the proc entry in spells_new.
After this I loaded up all the original source files, that I know of, and did a search in notepad++ to see if any of these files had it entering the data in Pets and NPC_types to show where I went wrong and I have yet to locate that file. I did see where the original peqbeta_2015-08-12-02 file was inserting the data into spells_new but no entries for Pets or spells_new.
Did any of that trigger an ah hah moment on where I might consistently be failing?

If you are using the new Akka auto install, it pulls the latest DB daily/weekly dump from PEQ. I do not use that database when I install, I drop it and download the current DB thats available here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5FZHGN6aazfeThIMENvWTA2VDA&usp=sharing#list
As I found that the current PEQ DB daily dumps have some errors and omissions, as well as it may have enabled/disabled whatever Cavedude is running on the Grand Creation at the current time. As an example I did this during halloween and the Halloween event over on PEQ was running, but there was no instruction on what queries to run to disable it. So in my digging, I realized I was not getting the above DB but the daily dumps.
Hope that helps.
Celestial
Edit: I would run the above DB as most of the people helping you will have something to help test with if the DB is the same. If your using the daily dump there will be variances.

peqbeta_2015-08-12-02_01.tar.gz is the file I did use. It was last created 8-12-2015. Perhaps, the daily dump you mention has it but th 8-12-2-15 version does not. If you use the peqbeta_2015-08-12-02_01.tar.gz version, does SwarmPetLDONSar show as an entry in Pet in your database? If not then that problem explains a lot.
EDIT: I install my own server from instruction on the Wiki. I use AKKA in a different VM to compare things like the problems I have having to see if it is a global issue or just an issue with me. Ultimately I am not sure what is supposed to work, what has been broken by code changes and what hasn't been fully implemented yet. I test first on my end, do a bit of research then I post. The problem I am noticing, just like your example, is everyone is pulling from so many locations and different version of files are being used. So, it keeps things... interesting! ;)

If I am not mistaken, I do not think LDON and anything associated with it actually fully works. I have never seen it work without a lot of "fixing". Most of those folks that have it fixed never really chime in on it. I think the mechanics are there, but if you are under the premise any of of is supposed to "work", you are moving in the wrong direction. You more than likely will have to fix it yourself and hopefully share, or get one of the uber coders on here to fix it with you. But I am really not seeing those guys that have it working helping. In fact, Demonstrar says in an above post some of it is not working.
As an example, PoP progression is suppossed to be fully functional, but its not. There are scripts that do not work and have to be recoded. I recoded many up to tier3 and got tired of messing with it. Same for LDONs as well.

I did run into some progression issues as well. I had to work around them. Sadly, I have practically zero programming skills. A friend and I will be messing with GoD progression stuff. Is that somewhat functional?

As far as I know none of GoD works. I am pretty much stalled on a server as well, as I need a lot of time to learn what to fix and then fix it. Example was learning enough perl to troubleshoot the scripts. Sadly, right now I do not have time to spend. There are some awesome people on here that will help if asked. What I would like to see if everything truly functional up to at least PoP. Everyone says it is, but in reality its not. Reality is running a server is a lot of work!

I believe what I need to do is first find out where to grab the latest version of stuff the main devs are working on. Then slowly figure out what is or isn't implemented, then I can start learning and playing around with stuff. I just need to make sure what I have created is current and running as designed.
People like you and I need to form up a tracker page. Something that allows us to keep track of what isn't implemented or is broke. Maybe we can then start working together to improve the content. If something like that does exist, let me know so I don't annoying everyone here every couple days asking if X is supposed to be working or not. :)
EDIT: I do want to somewhat correct myself concerning PoP progression. There were a couple of keys I did skip, as the NPCs weren't responding, but as a whole most of it worked well. The tribunals were broken for me except for Flame and maybe one other. Summoning the stones and giving them to the Executioner gave a flag, as a work around. I did notice that having bots in your group often bugged the quest givers. They would not respond or would only respond to a certain point. If you got rid of the bots and repop the zone, they went back to working. Repopping the zone alone did not work. This may be something a lot would run into as I believe bots are somewhat popular. I believe I had an issue with the Behemoth not spawning anything after death. That i would have to check again to be exact.

The expedition system itself has not been implemented.
I believe there are a couple of pseudo-expeditions coded into scripts..but, that won't be the final product.

Alright here is my conclusion on this thread, for those who have similar problems. It seems there was no corruption with my database and no issues with my installation.
1. Charms - It appears most charms are broken and do not function. I found 2 that work after you zone. The rest nothing. I had to work around this by modifying the charmfieldid and setting it to 0. This maxes the charm sadly, but at least it works.
2. Unknown DB - I did copy over the generated spell_us.txt and someone gave me a dbstr_us.txt file. This corrected 90 percent of my errors. I would love to find a way to complete it but this is at least very usable now. No installation appears to generate a dbstr file. One person told me that imported those into their server, not generated. My problem is having a solid one to begin with. I guess it is possible some of the unknowns are that, unknown.
3. LDON raids. It appears a majority of these have not be implemented yet. I do not have a current list of the ones that are. I may update later if I get one.
4. Shard of Eternal Pain - This is broken using the current file that the wiki links you to. I had to download the weekly update and it works there.
Hope this information proves useful to someone.
EDIT: Just to clarify on the charms, I did not test them all. I only tested roughly 12 different charms of 65 level or lower. The charms I am talking about are the ones that scale based on different conditions. Not charms that have static stats outright. I just realized this might have been part of the confusion for some.
