Just testing some things out before letting my friends in, "a mature wyvern guardian" near phara dar area,

a) #damage # = crash
b) it attacking me = crash
c) targeting one = crash

Let me know if you need anything, im new back to this after many years.

Revis. Could it be my getting summoned that's crashing? guardian of veeshan further down just crashed me also.

I'm now crashing in Seb when attacking a frog.. is this a character issue? the only changes I've made are xp gain, and flagging account as gm

Now targeting a frog in seb is crashing me. Anyone have a similar issue that can walk me through what the problem might be?

The last game mechanic I used was to adjust aa xp up then back down to zero.

Ranger is fine, low lvl warrior/bard/rogue were fine. SO far :)

Is it the client or the sever that is crashing?

Client, and just the monk that I can tell. Started in Veeshan i believe after I adjusted AA up to 60% than back down. It will happen on #damage command, targeting, aggroing and various other first attacks. (sometimes I kill 1 then target another) and it crashes.

So, your client is crashing..what error message are you receiving?

as far as the client it just enters not responding state, and closes. the server windows don't look to show any errors. I click X to close out sometimes and can re-connect and be fully in game within 15 seconds
This is a strange one, as it appears to be character related. I mentioned I haven't changed much at all because I am so happy to get it up and running again lol.

There are a few server-based actions that 'might' cause that.

A 'Kick()' should take you to character select screen.

A 'WorldKick()' should take you all the way back to login window.

I'm not sure that a fast re-connect is a sign (though, not ruling it out..) since the zone server could still be spooled up and ready to go.

There are cases in the client itself where 'bad things' can happen if data isn't sent 100% as expected.

Did you happen to manually equip the character in question? Possibly from items not in active loot tables?

Let me check some of the items he has. If I have them in my bags does that still count? I could try naked and see.

Ok, no items just bags of tinkers, #damage 10000 to kill smaller mobs ok, aggroed something in Karnor not ok. #damage 10 on bat no crash but once it got to my character I crashed.

Sometimes yes..sometimes no.

The client reviews all persistent items to determine if stat modifications are required.

You could take an inventory snapshot of your toon..delete everything..then do a restore afterwards.

I would recommend getting used to the command first..before actually deleting everything.

I 'think' there is a hard-coded min '150' status to do the advanced stuffs too...

And just to clarify it's isolated to one character, i just want to know what I did wrong before inviting my friends lol. where in the db should I compare a healthy character to that one do you suggest?

I'm assuming that no 'problems' occur until you target something.

- You can review your items to see if any have bane dmg to frogloks

- Are you using power source items?

- If using a charm, what 'effect' does it provide under what conditions?

Can't really compare a monk to a non-monk unless using non-class specific gear.

If deleting all items did fix the crash issue..I would:

- restore the inventory snapshot

- delete an item and test target for crash

- continue deleting items and testing target until crashing stops

- report back what item was doing this

You may have multiple items causing crashes - in this case..

You'll want to restore the inventory from the snapshot and delete the item that was originally causing problems.

Take a new reference snapshot without the problem item and start testing again..doing this entire cycle until all problem items have been removed.

If you did the very first step of deleting everything and it still crashes..it's most likely not inventory related.

EDIT: type #invsnapshot in-game.

I couldn't get it figured. Went naked, every time something hit me after aggroing it would crash. Going to try to replicate it by making a new monk.

Being naked, at least that rules out inventory-related systems.

There was, iirc, another case of this behavior several years ago.

I'll see if I can track down the post and link it - if it is related.

EDIT:

I couldn't find what I was looking for .. pretty sure it was a forum post and not an irc convo...

There was some thought about it possibly being a profile corruption or, maybe, some spell or timer entry.
