How do I set XP?

I got desperate to try to solve one on my own and looked at information_schema, turned all zones' zone_exp_multiplier to 1 if it had been 0, reset the server and found that in zone 701 at level 85 I received XP (but only as a system message), if AA was 100% I received 1 blue, and if I de-leveled to 69 I also received 1 blue.

While I'm not above setting the level multiplier (also updated to 1 for level and AA) up to 11 (still never seen that movie)....I'm wondering if there's something else I'm missing?

Are you assuming that setting the zone_exp_multiplier to 1 is simply enabling it ? XP x 1 = no gain. XP x 1.5 (or 2 or 3) = XP gain and so on ... Hence, the word "multiplier". There is also XP settings in the variables table and rule_values table. (for both reg and AA).

I did make that assumption...I'm more of an engineer than a mathematician, I kind of thought x1 was identity =/

but x5 and x50 worked great (for testing)
