I'm a bit confused on the formula for AC. Here is an example of an issue I'm experiencing on my server with a spell that has the following values:

effect_base_value1 = 30
max1 = 55
formula1 = 101:Effect Base + Level / 2

My character is level 49. According to the formula, this means:
30+49/2= 54.5 AC

What I actually see in game is an AC boost of +15

I'm obviously misunderstanding the formula. Can anyone explain why I am seeing a value of +15 AC in game, when it should be a value of +54.5 AC in game (based on the above formula)?
Yes, I remembered to re-export my client files from the server side and overwrite them on the client side.

P.S: I suck at math

Your math is fine. Spell AC is weird. If you take off an item worth 40+ AC the change is huge, but with a spell it's much smaller.

If you look at #mystats, under mitigation AC, there is a field for "spell."

On my level 60 GM char using crappy GM armor, my mitigation AC is 360. If I take off my 40 AC breastplate it drops to 306. When I cast Resolution it goes up to 373 (up from 360). However, "spell" goes from 0 to 55 (reflecting the full value of Resolution).

Someone better with the actual AC formula might can chime in, though.

Here's an explanation from an actual EQ dev.

Boom, exactly. Shit is complicated lol.

We still have pre-AC split too; which on live separated Mitigation and Avoidance AC into different values.

Only for client display.
