Need some help, getting disconnected at char select

I've searched around and i'm sure there has been a post about how to fix the disconnect at character select. Could anyone eaither send me a link to that thread or tell me how I can fix this problem?

whoops, actually i'm getting disconnected while i'm submitting my name to the server.

If you have the admin tool, hop into the database and look for the accounts. See if you have an "eqemu" account or whatever name you have as your account. If you do not add on in, restart your server, then try logging in.

You don't need to make any characters within the tool, just setup name, password, access level, etc... You should be able to get in then, if not run the GRANT portion of the Documentation again and try again.

i'm trying to log into someone else's server though. Sry I didn't mention that.

Did they setup an account for you? Ask them to try that as well. I've had a similiar issue, after creating the accounts they were able to log in. They have to bounce the server however.
