Hi, could use a bit of help. I'm total noob to eqemu and would love to play a bit on local server. I got server files and was able to complete the config and run it. Now I do have few old eq install games on my backup drive. I did try to use those to connect and after changing eqhost file to my local setup, I get daybreak login screen asking for user/password. Now I have no idea which one it's asking for. Is this my real daybreak account (my is a bit older from SOE times) or do I specify something in the config of eqemu? Not sure. I'm not 100% sure my client would work either so if anyone is able to point me to where I can buy an older client. I may have my EQ CDs in one of my boxes, but I think those are probably too old. There are also posts about modifying db.ini which I don't seem to have in my eq client folder. If there is a post for all these questions I can refer to that would be great. Appreciated!

Update: was able to locate EQ plat with all 5 disks. Install and changed host now I simply get connecting window from patching process and it does not go anywhere. Don't see any errors or even attempts to connect to my local server that's running. Any ideas?

You are best to use ROF2. There are various copies online or you can buy it some places. Or you can get it from steam by typing in something in the console and it will download all the files and you can copy them to make your own EQ folder from it.

Then edit eqhost.txt to have this:

[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5999

That should let you log into emulator land from the game. And then you should see your server in the list. You can also make it run offline and you would change that eqhost file to have your ip address instead.

Also when you run the game you have to make a shortcut to eqgame.exe and put "patchme" in the shortcut after eqgame.exe for example:

c:\EQ\eqgame.exe patchme

You can also put your username in there if you like so you dont have to type it every time. Like this:

c:\EQ\eqgame.exe patchme /login:myusername
