crashing after char select.

seems like i got everything running right though once i go to log into the game from char select screen it dumps me to desktop..this is the only error i could find in the dos windows(win2k, i masked the ip addy):

when starting world.exe i do get this message(dont know if it affects anything)

could it be the system not geting the time?? been all arround the forums and havent found anything that helps me yet. even tried to set it up for localhost and 127.0.0.1 and no luck..still getting the unknown opcode errors..

anyone able to shed some light on this?

Got the same type of error here. I can log in, create characters and all..

Click on go, and wham bam back to desktop (Both tested with eqw, and patchme).
Zone says : Unknown opcode: 0x2042 size:4
(Happens every time)

I have tested different versions of MYSQL server, as different databases, but all end up with the same. Any ideas?

PS. Server (minilogin, world and zone) running on one machine, client on other (internal lan).

i am having the same problem. does anyone have any ideas? since i cant get hosting my own server to work, and being perma level 1 sucks, id love to get this working :D

i open eq with the patchme thingie and get to select servers and all then i try to make a new char and it crashes me to desktop :cry:

I have nearly the exact same problems, word for word as wizbite's first post, ive tried everything ive read, including all the forwarding and DNS crap, but nothing seems to work, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I also get this problem when I try to create a char of certain races.

For example, trying to create a Dark Elf will crash, but creating a Human Druid would be fine (in fact all the human classes I've tried).

Perhaps it's something to do with the start points in the database for particular race's?

Zone crashes can be caused by zone pathing bugs, etc. But if you can't log into a zone and get bumped to desktop, try another zone/race, and also doublecheck your database. You should make sure you have something there.

I did a complete re-install of 4.1 with the dbaddon from a while back.

I also put in a load of new items and cleaned the zone spawns.

I need to take a proper look at it - so I am assuming at this stage that it's because some races are not setup properly in my db.

Oh well, I'm just going to have to spend some time and get things sorted.

i can get in my own server but others have this problem with my server too. my login is on internet connection sharing with ports forced, i have no idea why others can't get in my dsl server though, no firewall standard install windows2k. I tried it with 5bootzone set for my no-ip domain name and also with just my ip numbers in there too.

Ok i can get in the game for about 5 seconds on my own server. I can connect to all other's servers just fine. After connecting to my own server it has the same exact errors as above. Watch all your connectivity bars on the right number on the left side of your screen. Does it go to 0 and then go yellow... red... DISCONNECTED. That is what is happening to me anyways, bout to go to a friends house and try getting on my server at his house. BRB
