New guy... confusion. Please help.

I'm definitely new to EQEmu. One thing that's thrown me is that a lot of zones are always down. Are there any servers that have a majority of the zones up? A friend of mine is interested in starting an Emu server for some local friends to hook up on and play for fun, but this has been a concern. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, it takes up a lot of the CPU usage to do one zone...so just think about a majority of them. That's why there are only a few up at a time, they have like...3 or 4 computers just running the zones for the server, I suppose. Just my thought. :roll:

Well if it is for a few local friends i am guessing you will only have 1 or 2 zones up at a time and the rest would be sleeping, in that case, as long as your not creating your own lag by superproccing or training tons of mobs, you should be in good shape.
