Will a fresh installed, not patched EQ work with EQMU?

Will a fresh installed, not patched EQ work with EQMU?

I saw another thread with a similar topic, but no one was asking or talking about it.

Basically will EQEmu work if i install all expansions & game without patching them via servers?

you would still need to patch, and that would break the ability to use the EMU as of today. 1/21/2003
