Hi all,
I was just wondering if there was a program similar to "EQcollector" from the eq emulator Ethernalquest.

EQcollecter is a program that was run in the backgroup of eq and it made a database that you would then import into your offline database. It worked a treat, all mobs and items seem to import perfectly after being in the zone for 30mins or so. To import the data was just a click of a button then copying the new files that were made over the old.

Is the packet collector you guys have for eqemu the same?

The EQEMu Packet Collector sends the packet Data to a EQEMu Database not on the persons computer

Sort of. packetcollector saves the network packets, and outputs items. But it is really meant to get raw packets for the devs to decipher, not for collecting game data.

EQcollector was primarly for getting game data.

I believe both utils are at least partly broken due to the packets being compressed.

So would running the packet sniffer/collector double my internet download as it is resending the same data I'm receiving?

One more thing, are you trying to collect data to fill all the spawns , loot, items and zone boarders as well working out game play type data?

No it isn't sending any data, just collecting it. Currently it isn't working as well as it used to, there is a sticky post (http://forums.eqemu.net/viewtopic.php?t=4596) about using it.

It is just for the devs, and items to my knowledge.
