I was just wondering, well i got my warrior up to lev 18, then got killed, when i came up at my bind point, i was naked, no items, nothing, went back to where i was killed, and no corpse, so i had no items or money, and would have to re summon all my stuff everytime i die, i was just wondering if it is supposed to be like that, or if it was a bug or what, well if it is a bug, i am going ahead and telling you about it if you dont already know
good luck getting any sort of response or answer to your question.
not even the mods and gms on foreverhacking seem to know anything..........

As far as I know, its a bug. You will get much more support then the senseless ramblings of Rag on the irc channel, something apparently Rag hasnt found out how to do?
Lol, if you dont like EQemu so much, Rag, go play something else.

I tried this a few times also... Basically what i found was that the emu isn't saving as often as you'd like it to.. IE: when you zone, die, trade, etc.
What i did was to summon all my equipment then camp out quick and come back. By doing that i forced a save and i never had the problem again.
So, now every time i get new stuff or do something i wouldn't want "deleted" i do a quick camp or something else to enforce a save of the character.
Hope this helps you... if not i don't know what else can be done about it =/
Good luck.

I like EQemu just fine, or at least i did until all the "legit" servers started popping up.
i've said it a thousand times......."legit" eqemu is absolutely STUPID until there is a database even CLOSELY comparable with eqlive.

LoL!!! Yeah, legit sucks so much...that's why on a whole there's more people on the legit server(s) then all the non-legit server combined......

If you dont like it so much, why dont you make your own server? Or are you one of those people that can't get it up and complain about everything?

I like EQ alot. Foreverhacking server to me IMHO is like semi-legit. You have to level to 20 before be bumped to any level (up to 60). Then you have to earn your own AA's and lvl 61-65. Plus you can zone, and summon items. Very fun and not to stressful. Keep up the good work devs. Also Krushers server is semi-legit as wel. I play both servers.

Actually I rather like the idea of legit servers, for those who come to the Emu and want to play EQ and not have to pay SOE for the privelege or for those who lack the financial security of a Credit Card or any other form off payment, like college student you are actually paying their own way through school, and don't have mommy and daddy to give them money. Also, I like the non-legit server idea for those people who don't have 6-8 hours to go LFG in Sebilis or whatever zone seems to be popular for their level. I enjoy playing a Warrior and being able to actually Solo. Something that is extremely hard to do in live.
But I also will concede the point that the legit servers do lack the DB to run well in comparison to EQLive. but that, much like the EQLive of today will come in time. that'ss why we have the Development team on the Emu, they are trying to make an EQ that is comparable to Live, and I must say the advancement of the Emu over the last 6 weeks alone is impressive. Well done, developers, you have my respect. 6 weeks ago the ForeverHacking server couldn't support more than 20 people without causing severe lag and alot of LDs. in the last couple of days I've logged into tthe FH server with 30ppl on it and have had virtually no lag. So, remember before you complain about the Emu, that the number of Developers on the Emu is less than a quarter of what the live project has. Then take into account that the Dev's on this project aren't paid to do what they do. You wanna complain? you want a right to complain the they aren't doin enough to satisfy you?
START PAYING THE GMS AND DEVELOPERS OF THE EMU. The GMs and Developers on the Live project are paid employees of Sony, which means people are paying them money to listen to you.
-Saint or Sinner....you decide.
i'm sorry, but the ONLY reason there are more players on legit servers is BECAUSE MOST OF THE STABLE SERVERS HAVE GONE LEGIT. and from talking to players in game, it very much seems that the MAJORITY of players, even on legit servers, would rather NOT have legit servers. I have discussed this with people on MANY servers, and they all say the same thing "how can they even call it "legit" when over half the zones don't even work??"
I just don't understand why more people don't speak out about this, as I know for a fact i'm not alone in my opinions. and i HIGHLY resent the outburst of hostility towards my views........
i'm not naive. i know the bottom line is that the servers will be run the way the server administrators decide how to run them. I just wish they could understand that the MAJORITY of players do not want legit play, that's what EQlive is for. And when you legit players say that majority of players want legit play, i just don't see that. EVEN on your own server, players are complaining about it. and i know what you're going to say "well then go play on another server".......................BELIEVE ME, I WOULD LOVE TO. unfortunately, only one other server even comes close to being stable and non-legit, and there's rumors that it will soon be going legit.
i'm telling you, once players lose the abilities to make themselves uber, they will no longer play. you can say i'm wrong until you're blue in the face, but i forsee it. you can choose to ignore it all you want, but do this for me. pay attention to the /ooc on whatever server you play on. If it's populated, you'll note that well over 50% of the chat is about "what's the best item for Xclass?".........

First off, everyone calm down. No point in a flame war starting over something this minor.
My big issue is, if people are complaining so much, what is stopping them from creating their own, nonlegit servers?
It's not rocket science, and doesnt require tons of money to start? These people that complain about it need to get over it, it's a free project, run by indivuduals, not a group, so they can do it whatever way they please. If they want to use it as a exploration tool, then they should maintian their own servers.
Also, if you ask me, it weeds out exactly the type of people I dont think we need in the project, the hordes that come in and say 'gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, with no much obliged' , and fail to try to contribute anything back to the eqemu community. Its just bandwidth we dont have to pay for for people that are here for the 'quick fix' eqemu can offer, and have no desire to help forward the project.
If you wont take the time to set up your own server to explore with, I doubt you're going to take the time to post bug fixes, make pertinent suggestions towards the improvement of the product in general, etc. Maybe this is a sweeping generalization on my part, but it seems pretty true from the host of people i've had in the past log onto my server and beg for GM status amoung other things.
So the bottom line is, if you want it so bad, make it, and stop complaining about the way others do it. (And thats not pointed directly at you Rag, but to anyone that feels the need for a NON-Legit server). Non of the server admins are getting checks from anyone in here, so theres no customer satisfaction needed.
My server is nonLegit, though its a dev server, and is prones to ups and downs when i put code in. I would run it legit if I had the time to put into content development, but I dont.
I would post one of my nearly world famous analogies (I've had a couple published in the past! LOL) but it's too early in the morning.
and does it work with a router?
wasn't it you yourself that said ingame that it doesn't?

I quit using EQEMU due to the fact that all the stable servers are legit. I'm sorry, but I don't think the majority to people play on here because they can't afford it, don't have a credit card, etc. The majority play here because they like EQ and want a break from the Live EQ (the endless hours of killing the same mobs over and over to gain xp and the endless hours of LFG).
I came here because I thought I could just create a warrior, bump him up to lvl 60, give him some gear and create something that I couldn't do on Live. However, it's still the same thing in a way. Yea, I can summon items. But I have no control over anything else. It would rock to summon a npc, change it's levels, etc. But since most of the features are disabled, it's just a broken Live wannabe.
And no, setting myself up a server is not an option. I tried, for hours and got no solution on the board.

Works fine with a router so long as you know how to configure the router properly. Shouldnt be much different than configuring any other server product inside your DMZ.
I doubt it was me, Im almost never ingame), but anythings possible..

I used a router for my server. If your smart you can still setup it up with a router or firewall.

it's not my router.
i know exactly what i need to do. i have neither the permission nor the port codes to do it.

While we're on the subject of the Foreverhacking server, why is it that my character just chain deaths constantly? I rolled up a character there, summoned a few things for him to wear, then was running out to wack a few mobs when my character just drops dead. I respawn, 5 seconds later he drops dead again. Over and over, just infinate death.
It didn't start happening right away. I was running around for a while before summoning some equipment then running for the zone out of the city to go see what the mob situation was like. Summoned a Septre of Destruction, Vindi BP, and a piece or two of Raex's armor, no GM radioactive stuff.
At first I figured someone in GM mode was messing with me. /killing me over and over. But that wasn't the case either, because I joined the server again later that night only to drop dead a few seconds after getting control of my character as usual. No one could have seen me join and /kill me in that short amount of time. So it's something progromatic that's killing me off.
