Loading items & NPCs...Done.
Spells loaded from 'spdat.eff'.
Loading guild ranks...done.
Connected to worldserver: YourIP:Port
Entering sleep mode
but instead it says:
Using database 'eq' at localhost
Loading items & NPCs...Done.
Spells loaded from 'spdat.eff'.
Loading guild ranks...done.
WorldServer connect: Conecting to the server failed. Error: 10061
InitWorldServer failed

worldname is what you want your server's name to be, make sure the ip addresses in that file are right.

The ip in the Boot5zones.win9x?
had a question about that.....do i turn ALL of the 127.0.0.1's into my ip address? or just one or something.
:confused:
[from the install guide]
3) Edit Boot5Zones.bat (right click it and hit EDIT, then change 127.0.0.1 to your IP)
3b) Run Boot5Zones.bat (You no longer need to have a zone up, only [empty zoneservers]) is he refering to the minilogin?

You have this:
LoginServer:
[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin.gotfrags.com
worldname=Bristlebane
locked=false
worldaddress=
account=
password=
Change it to this:
LoginServer:
[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin.gotfrags.com
worldname=Bristlebane
locked=false
worldaddress=216.176.14.101
account=
password=

Also, it is not wise to post your database password and username here. Use stars (****) instead. Everyone will know what you mean.

When i get to the login screen it says
Incorrect version!!
run the patch program to ensure you have the current version......wtf is going on now?
_OZZY_

I was afraid that was going to happen to you. If you patched since 2/12/02, then you will NOT be able to use the emu. The latest patches are incompatible. You can, however, play on gotfrags. Until a new version is released, that is all you can do. Sorry :(

how do i play on gotfrags?

read my post about the port, and change your eqhost.txt to that. it *should* fix the problem. enjoy!

You need this as your eqhost.txt file:
[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5997"
}
After which, run the following command from a command prompt:
eqgame patchme
Saionce

might be easier just to go get my eq cd and reinstall it into a different directory and run it from there ;)
so where do i type in eqgame patchme? in a dos command thingy right?..im not familiar with dos
saionce = n00b ;)
how do i go about doing that =)
Saionce
02-26-2002, 05:07 PM

Simplest way I know of:
Click on Start
Click on run
Type command
Press enter
type cd \progra~1\everqu~1\
press enter
type eqgame.exe patchme
press enter
