well, I managed to get rid of the other error, but now I have the usual "cant connect to patch server" is the patch server down at this moment?

Make sure there is no router or firewall blocking the patch server.

also, make sure you have the mdac update installed.

I shutted down zone alarm, and I never have trouble with ports before. just in case, I use windows XP and a us robotics adsl modem. thanks for the help in anticipation
