EQEmu - Needs Good Legit Server

Okay, i've come to think that EQEmu needs a good legit server, like GW, thats 24/7 and is hosted on DSL+.

Is anyone willing to do this? :)

im looking into doing that as i can host 24/7 but i got to install the server today 1st then look at it as ive no idea what the server side will be like but i have hosted other serer based games quite a few and i dont intend to be a flash in the pan.

Evertorn will be a legit server. It's in beta testing atm and is open to the public to get feedback. Keep in mind that not everything is spawned, and not all items will be available during beta. Don't wanna spoil everything for folks before the server even goes live. ;)

Why don't you stop stealing the legit version of the game from Verant, and fork over the 12$ (?) a month they ask for stable, relighable, fast, and customer serive backed servers. EQ severs will be around for another three years at least. No offense to the EQemu development team, but a stable EQemu server is very hard to come by.

I played EQemu for the rush of being able to solo things, and do a nice one man raid. If you're looking to play a legit game of EQ; there is nothing that will ever come close to the real thing.

Who's stealing? Looking through my chest of discs I come across this box.. it says 'Everquest'.. it has a rather large price tag on it. You realize that eq plus expansions costs around $80... think about that. When was the last time you paid 80 bucks for a game? If anything can be considered 'stealing' it's Sony charging me $80 bucks for a game and then telling me I'm not allowed to play it unless I pay them a monthly tribute.

The game costs money and (we assume) we all paid it. The monthly fee is for the server costs. It would only be stealing if one were to either a) use warezed files or b) used any set of files on eql without a properly paid for account. Seeing as how my money went into Sony's bank account for a legal set of cds I take offense to your accusation of theft. To so blatently accuse the players of EQEmu (or were you accusing the devs as well?) of 'stealing' because we choose not to deal with Sony's machiavellian regime is ignorance.


That being said...

No offense to the EQemu development team, but a stable EQemu server is very hard to come by ... there is nothing that will ever come close to the real thing.

Heh.. ok.. I think I know what you're talking about.. all I can say is give it time. When I first logged into to EQEmu and noticed the server I was on had no quests, no faction, the mobs didn't agro or run or cast, and I LD'ed on every other zone.. my first thought? WOW.... Sure it was buggy, sure it wasn't good enough to 'play'.. but I was very impressed with what had been done. You can look at it and say 'this sucks, too buggy and eql is better' or you can say 'wow, this is amazing what they can do.. I can't wait to see what happens next'.

Right now it isn't really that close to the real thing... but why assume it could never be? The code will improve, eventually eq patches will slow down and come to a halt allowing the emu to catch up. No we'll never have multiple t1s flowing into multiserver rooms.. but hey.. we also don't have 100k n00b druids to deal with.

Maybe it will never be close to the 'real thing'... but that doesn't mean it won't be quite playable and enjoyable. Heck.. if it were ever exactly like EQL I'd have to quit it just like I did the orig 8)

Like he said, we paid for the game when we went to Walmart/BestBuy/Wherever to buy the CDs+Expansions. The 12$ a month to Sony is to keep the servers up and running. Upgrades, T1-+ Connection(s) they have per server, the Administrators to run the VPN they're on, The houseing costs of the servers, basicly the upkeep. So, there is no stealing involved when using EQEmu. I got my CDs right here and I played EQLive for over a year. Though I have to say that EQEmu has MUCH better constumer service than EQL will ever have. :D So Deris, if you dont like it. LEAVE

EQemu is pretty damn close to original eq. There isn't really much missing other than a few minor things like groups being bugged on occasion.

Try a legit server out some time, you might be surprised how much the emu can do. ;)

blasterons server will be available 24/7 legit from friday the delay is i want to see how detailed termacs db is make sure all is catered for and do some load tests see how many zones i can support so any help and advice is appreciated the server is workable now thats all sorted :-)

For as long as i have played on other online game server i have never met a person as dedicated to a server as blasteron and provides such a good service as he. He is the man who will not let you down. I've played a few servers and non match up to the service of Blasteron.
