DirectX 6.0?

When I run EQWindow, and I click 'I accept' on the agreement I get a error which tells me that EverQuest requires Direct X 6.0 or higher to run.

I'm running on Windows XP, and have the latest version of Direct X. Anyone have any idea of what's wrong?

download DX8.2 then install it if it dose the same thing reinstall eq
install this file
