2 legit 2 quit -or- how do I tell the difference?

Hiya.. I'm new to the EQEmu scene (obviously ;)

I've been browsing the forums and I see a lot of legit vs. illegit and I can see some people have some pretty strong feelings on the matter. I've bounced around on a few servers and honestly... I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out exactly what is meant by 'legit'.

The servers I've been on have all allowed summonitem commands, is using these considered legit? I haven't seen very many drops at all on any server and have yet to find a working quest... up until now I've been under the assumption summoning items is ok. Or is it just 'don't summon planar gear at level 1' maybe? Or am I seriously supposed to loot for PP and make banded? What about helpful clicky items like dains ring and eyepatch of plunder?

Other then Gm leveling what exactly is considered non-legit? As i mentioned I bounce around servers and would hate to piss somebody off with my yearn for uberness ;)

legit varies from server op to server op.. I fully legit server would have fully spawned mobs, loot tables, merchants and quests, and you would not be able to summon items or alter level. It would be like eqLIve for the most part.

Right now, the servers are undergoing alot of changes due to changes in database structure with the last release, so loot has not been fixed on most servers.

I doubt you'll piss any server Ops off. If they are lame enough to get annoyed for you using something they refuse to fix, their server is useless anyways... LOL....

Will there ever be, or is there already a Fully Legit Server? Something that is just like the EQLive Servers? If Not, which servers closely resemble them?

Guild wars was legit, but yes, most server are at least somewhat non-legit.

Wait for guildwars to come back up for a real taste of where this project is going.
