The most stable non-legit server!

The "Legit Servers SUCK" server (something like that) is the most stable server I been on since it reopened yesterday.
WE had more than 10 people in the sleepers tome all hitting the sleeper at the same time. Normaly if i was on a server with more than 10 people dishing out 1000dmg per/sec I would LD everytime. On top of that we had people with charmed and summoned pets beating away at him too! I am not talking about your normal pets that hit for 90-100dmg, Iam talking about the ones that hit for near 10k a hit! I was casting a 20k nuke and so was another guy. It took near 300+ nukes me and the other guy alone. 5 min fight or so to kill him. Not one single person had gone LD with all of that. The whole fight the net bar stayed green. Through the whole fight I was wondering "How much more can this zone/server take? Then after we finished the sleeper we ran and slaughtered the rest of the 4 dragons :lol:

I must say that is best server I have ever been on since EQ live :shock:



p.s To the person who owns that server: what system specs do you have running the server?

server is runin on my p4 1.4ghz laptop with 256 mb of ram, the big thing tho is the 100mbps connection to my schools network, which has a oc3+ internet connection.

yeah. if my home computers were nere as fast as my school computers i would be having a good time all the time. I'm getting a dsl line at my house though. it will be faster then what im running at home right now but. still no where compared to my schools internet speeds.

Yea i want to upgrade to fiber optic cable, but Im sure itll cost more then my 40 bucks i pay every month. Heck if i had 300 dollars amonth for a t1 line, i would get it and dedicate a server to eqemu :D

What makes this server so enjoyable to play on (besides the fact that they have a very stable connection) is the unique content. It reminds me alot of the scruffy-quest server that scruffy ran a while back. Altho the items scruffy came up with were more varied and cooler overall, he didnt have any custom mobs. The arena zone on this server really keeps people coming to the server. One thing that i don't agree with is the #cast and #spawn commands being kept in, but that's where the serverop wants things to go, so that's ok.

I think that if those 2 commands were taken out, and the loot was limited to 5 pieces or so per kill, this server would have many more people dedicated to playing. The falldown of servers like this though is that after an hour of playing, there's not much more to do besides make a new character. Just a suggestion. :)

EQEmu does violate the EQ EULA which means they WILL ban your account.

My advice, dont use EQlive information in conjunction with EQEmu

I love the non-legit servers for the reason that I can summon up the items I had when I was playing EQLive, and start from there. I really don't want to spend another few months releveling up a character again. I've done it a few times now already for it to be fun anymore.

I want to take a single group into Temple of Veeshan for example. Something a group of my real life friends and I were striving for when we decided that the guild thing was burning us out. Any really challenging dungeon works for that matter.

The only problem with this so far though, is that it's not fun doing a dungeon where mobs don't assist, and all look at you amiably. Every non-legit server I've been on doesn't have aggroing/assisting mobs. Every server I've been on that "does" have aggroing/assisting mobs is a legit server.

I'm hoping for a server that has both aggroing/assisting mobs, and the ability to summon items and command leveling. Then I can truely have fun playing the part of the game I still enjoy... the dungeon crawl, the hunt, the battle. The leveling and aquisition of wealth no longer holds my interest, I want to fight. I want to treat this game like I do Quake2 or any of the Rainbow Six titles. A game that sits on my shelf that I play when I feel like it. It's the exp grind that turns me off about EQ now... the fact that if you don't play every single day, then you fall behind all your friends.

EQemu is my ticket to make Everquest into a game again, rather than a job.

I'd so love to run a server like the one I'm talking about, but my internet connection will never support it (cable, with a capped upload speed).

question to those who run this server, will you guys be getting all the class spacific elemental armor working? ( I know there is god armor, but lagit fights are way more fun)

Good server, good connection. nice job to the guy running it. Its good fun.
