do i need to have SOL on my computer too?

So far I haven't been able to pass the error 1001 after you input your Screen name and Password.. the eqpatcher says that the files are ok to for EQemu.. i have some questions that i hope get some answers..

1- do i need to have all the EQ on my computer? i have only regular EQ and Kunark i didn't install SOL yet.

2- do i need to have an account with sony to play? (i know that it sounds stupid that somebody play for free and want to pay for it too but at this point after almost one week and not been able to connect i guess is worth the try to ask any question even if they are stupid)

3- do i have to be a "Supporter" to reach the servers? i wish i could be one but if you read #4 you will know why i can't be one rigth now

4- do i have to give up trying and keep dreaming about been a Barbarian shaman again since i'm broke thanks to a divorce that i have going on (who has been in that situation knows what i'm talking about) and i can't afford it?

1 - No, you do not need all expansions.

2 - No, you do not need a Sony account.

3 - No, you do not need to be a supporter, though a supporter does not necessarily mean you donate money, you can help us test, report bugs, make suggestions, databases, community items for everyone.

4 - No, feel free to play a barbarian shaman! In fact, you can test it out and let us know how to correct any class specific issues you encounter with it.

Thaks Trumpcard for answering my post... i will love to test anything in the game for you guys.. But.. how can i do that if i can pass the login screen due to the erro i get that it says that i can connect to the server error 1001...

change the icon on desktop to :

"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

I had the same exact error as you and after that it worked perfectly.
