View Full Version : Making NPCs attack on sight
I was curious if this is implimented yet and if so how do I do it? I've already got the factions working perfectly and where I have say an orc that scowls at a character lower level than the orc I'd like to have it attack. Hopefully with other orcs nearby joining in.
Any help or advice is deeply appritiated. :)

as of 2.3 npcs did not move. I don't know about 2.4 though. The final has not been released yet.

lets hope for the best, but i don't think it will be happening right away, but since faction is in, i think the next advance they are looking to do is get npcs to "patrol"

This would be really good, but you'd need some sort of command similar to the invulnerability one, which would make you invisible to monsters until you attacked (i.e more or less what it's like now) for testing and exploring zones. Checking out spawn locations etc. in dungeons would be rather hard otherwise.. :)

Just set in the agro if the player's status is (XXX) or higher not to attack or agro you.

If you're flagged GM status you can use #invul (0/1).

Invulnerability would stop them killing you, but having a huge train of monsters following you around everywhere might get quite annoying :)
As you say, the best way would probably to have monsters not aggro on players of GM status or higher (isn't this also the case with real EQ GMs?)

yeah that's how they really are, but i remember a long while back when the GMs would get attacked by guards and such and would have to /kill them
