I finally got my server up and running last night, yay. But what I'm curious about, is if it will work from behind my Linux machine (which is acting as a router, it's the only machine with a static IP to the internet, the rest are local LAN machines). The Linux machine is the gateway for all of the other computers on my LAN (IP Masquerading).

I can see my server on the server select with everyone elses, and I can join it myelf by selecting it from the EQemu server select screen... but of course the client and server are both local to me, behind this Linux machine.

What I'm wondering, since everyone else can see my server in the list as well, is if someone can connect to my server and tell me here in this thread if they were able to get in... or if my router/firewall is preventing people from the outside to get in. Curious if the login server supports tunneling through this sort of firewall.

Does the login server support this? or am I simply running a local LAN emulator "only" that happens to be using eqlogin1 and 2 instead of minilogin.

My server is "Ferrhast EQemu".

Thanks a ton.

Arrrg....

Never mind. Just lost my telnet window and all xterms to my Linux machine. Power must have blinked in my neighborhood yet AGAIN (been doing it all week). So there's no longer a server up to test, and I've got hours before I get to leave work.
