My friend is getting booted to Server Select as soon as he enters a zone. As in, you can see the UI interface sometimes, and 1 or 2 lines of OOC, but no zone graphics, just the black Disconnect screen in the zone graphics box (Old UI), and it takes him back to Server Select. This has been an ongoing problem through EQLive, MiniLogin Servers, Gotfrags, and eqlogin.eqemu.net.

For now, We'll focus on eqlogin.eqemu.net, since there's less room for variables.

A few things I should mention . . . on his computer, the harddrive (80gb Maxtor) hangs for a sec or two on Writes. Since client side zone loading does some Writing, is it possible the delay while Writing could affect the server's perception of whether or not the connection is still active?

The "Texture Caching" option Writes very heavily to the drive on the first few zone-ins, so I told him to keep that turned off (It caused problems on his EQLive of this exact same sort, so this isn't really an Emu specific issue, it's just a lot more extreme on the Emu considering he has Texture Caching off while playing on it).

This bug only repeats on larger zones. Here's some examples:
Surefall Glade: Never a problem.
Blackburrow: 1 in 4 zone-in's boot to Server Select.
West Freeport: 4 in 5 zone-in's boot to Server Select.
Paludal Caverns: Boots to Server Select every time.

Any ideas on possible fixes for this would be greatly appreciated. I've given all the info I could think of that might help. Feel free to ask for more information. I firmly believe this is more of a problem with his computer, and the only real problem the Emu Server is presenting is just a more picky way of handling zoning and connections.
