play without patching?

Ok seen as i can't seem to use the EQEmu Patcher i.e(can not connect to patch server), I was thinking maybe if i reinstall everquest and expansions but do not patch to eqlive would i be able to play then?

Sorry if this seems a silly question but ive been trying to get this thing to work for day's and this seems to be the only option open to me. :roll:

I'm pretty sure you need to patch your EQ installation at EQLive and then have those patches upgraded via the EQPatcher. I seem to recall a number of errors when I tried running EQEmu without patching at one or the other.
