View Full Version : Question with #spawn...
I remember playing with EthernalQuest and the model number 49 for the Lava Dragon, is the base number for all the other older ones like Vox, Phara, Xygox, etc.
Is there a way to change them to the different skins in EQEmu yet?

#spawn format has been changed, and it a lot easier to use I believe, except that class is at the end of the parameter string, but I think you can use '-' to get defaults on the other arguments.
Anyway, back to the topic. The spawn format also includes a texture argument. I tried to play with it but all I could do is spawn Barbarian females in hot pants.
Yea, i have tried a bunch of numbers for class, material, etc, and always get the red dragon...
What is the material parameter anyway?

There are far worse things than crowds of barbarian hotties in hot pants =)

After playing around with it more, i finally got it to change skins using the material parameter...BUT
The heads stay the same. Like you can spawn a #49 with skin 2 and make Vox's body, but has the head of Klan in WW
You can spawn #184(Velious Dragon) using skin 3 i think it was for Sontanak's body but still has the standard head(Vulak's i think), same with skin 4 (Yelinak), has a white body but gray head.

From what I see in the character file, it looks like a character is made up of several chunks and the head and body are separate.
The head starts off as helmet less then serveral heads: leather, chain, plate. The body is a separate chuck.
At least this is roughly the way it works for the character. I doubt very much that beetles have that much structure. The ones with the most structure are all the characters in chequip.s3d -- that inlcudes all the player characters, gods, and some high level mobs.
