Need help tried everything listed here

Ok Im new here been trying to 14 hrs now this is what i did
i got a 3rd copy of eq in a folder called emu i downloaded the patcher which gives me that runtime error 70 or 53 i forget not automation or something... i tried runnin eqemu without patching ive tried complete file check 11x and no matter how i do it when i get to the server select and try to enter Krushers or any server I now get bounced back saying cant connect to patch server try again ive gotten this now 17x

HELP please give me step by step im not a computer novice but cant figure this out
