Patch.exe says: "Cannot Connect to Patch server"

Why am i suffering from this problem? How can I fix it?

Same as everyone else who can't connect to server:

You have windows XP, antivirus, or firewall.

If you don't have any of these, then your ISP isn't letting you connect or the server is down (I'm positive it's not down).

I think it's not true, for I've managed to download the patches that everquest.exe had to offer.

Well last time I checked the EQEmu patch server and the EQ patch server are not hosted on the same machine. I also believe they use different ports.
