The thing about making a server like EQlive is cool. So whats your server for the EQlive twin going to be called? are you going to include the expansions?

I like the idea of having a proper server similar to EQLive, with pvp. That way wen there aint alot of people online u can still wonder around in a populated world and gain experience etc. Hmmm as for the name i aint any good but what about: EverQuest: Revelations

name it after your main eqlive character unless his name is "Schpankme Knightly"

sorry can't use that name. It may violate some copywright laws. and i don't like taking chances with the piggies.

i think that the pvp idea is good. my char is a pk, although not on a pk server. i made him a pk so that he could have a cool red name. i usually wander around in vexthall with a specter pet and myself in specter form.i think it would be great. also, what type of connection coulc u use for a server. i have a cable modem, using cox isp, and its pretty fast. usually DL's a little under 1 meg. dunno what it takes for a server.

I was thinking about creating a server (kinda). Like when im not home i can just leave eqemu running and when i get home just start playing. It wouldnt be dedicated since i want to play while running but might be just as good because ill have NOTHING running except explorer and eqemu.
My comps stats are:
ADM athlon 2100+
Geforece 3 ti 500 (overclocked = geforce 4 ti 2600)
1 gig DDR ram
40 gig HD
i think thats all that matter for a server right? and i have a cable connection if that helps.....
oh ya and i was thinking of making it a somewhat legit server. If im on i would change the level of some people by request, but would not allow certain items to be summoned, so you can actually have a reason for killing stuff.

I wish I had the connection to support a server. Only have a cable modem right now, with a 256 upload cap. Wouldn't support very many people. Someone's gonna get canned if more than one person zones at the same time.
I started populating an original world. Had wandering mobs, aggro, assisting, and loot drops all working. Was gonna gear it towards a level 60 and above group of 6. Mainly because my friends and I were going to treat it like any other LAN game we own. Get together on the LAN and do a dungeon or two. I had all our old EQLive characters as bosses to certain dungeons, with all new guards, wandering patrols, entire moving platoons etc.
But, alas, my friends weren't as interested as they seemed to be when I told them of what I was doing. They seemed all gun ho about it... but it's been a few months now and they 'still' have yet to reinstall EQ on their systems again (we all quit EQLive around the same time, they all uninstalled it, whereas I went on to mess with the emulator). So they don't seem to really care, so I stopped working on creating content. No point in wasting all this time populating something that no one will ever see (my friends aren't into it, and I don't have the connection to support a public server).
