Problems with Imbedded CR/LF

The zip file I downloaded has been cr/lf zapped is there another maybe .tgz for this or CVS?

I usually fix this by ftping the file to myself and setting the flag to ascii that automagically fixes the CR/LF issue... I believe some text editors fix this as well... what can I say though i'm a creature of habbit.
