Please Help

Hello, I have been trying to figure out how to play EQ Emu, I did the first step and got it to where it shows the servers, and when I try to connect to a server and it just restarts the program over again. I thought mabye it did that because I didn't download an EQ Emu program. Is there a main program I need to download?? Like an Emulator of some sort?? Or do I need to create a character on my computer so it can be transfered to the EQ Emu servers?? I'm completely new at this EQ Emu thing, and so far everything about it is different from hacking other Video Games.. Please help because I'm completely clueless about what I need to do. The site shows no sign of a main EQ Emu program to run.

If you ran the emu patcher, then you should be able to connect. I don't know why you got disconnected. Sorry!

I ran the patcher and it seemed to work fine, I do however, have the last EQ patch (from SOE). Mabye that has something to do with it??

It sounds like you did almost everything right. The disconnections could be because your datarate (can't remember where that is stored) is set too high or too low. For broadband, you want 10 or up. For modem, you might want 7. Blood_Kane is having the same problem, and he's been here a while. He had it working, then one day it won't work again. It's hard to say. Try hosting your own server on your own computer, and you might get a feel for eqemu.

Thanks for the help. I have DSL by the way, I don't think that has anything to do with it but like I said, I'm completely new to EQ Emu.

God, I feel like an idiot, I didn't have EQ Emu Patcher installed right, it kept listing a buch of missing files. I fixed the problem with the patcher and it only has 1 missing file which I feel may be preventing me from running the game (now it just goes to the "Deny/accept terms" screen then does nothing after you click accept) a discard.log file. I don't know what this is, any ideas??

yeah, I am thinking it might be my datarate too. Someone said for a modem 3.0 to 3.5 was good. I DID manage to get on Dil's Server the other night but kept going zone LD all the time. Still havent been able to connect to Guild Wars or Forever Hacking yet. EQLive has had it's own problems with connecting. There is an epidemic of 1018 (character currently active on the server) errors but the catch is people have been getting the error for days. Oh well it will be fixed soon I hope
