I'm trying to start my own stand alone server. I follow the read me (as best I can) and i get my server up and running, then when i try to log in it gives me 1017 error saying i need to rerun patcher. Could someone tell me what to do or send me a detailed readme for creating your own Stand alone server so i can get it running.

Check the support section for your operating system. Follow all walkthroughs step by step.

Can't give any other advice, as it seems that I got my standalone server running by chance.

If you're running WinXP then give this a shot (also shown on the Win32 support section):

Start > Run > "c:\eqemu\eqgame\eqgame.exe" patchme

If it fails then do

Start > Run > "c:\eqemu\eqgame\eqgame" patchme

If this fails then try not using quotes. The path used is of course the path where you have EQ installed.

I think Shawn found out about this fix and it DOES make a difference under WinXP whether you type the ".exe" extention or not (!!!).

Check the support section and good luck - load a lot of patience...took me about 6 days of tinkering before I got the emu running.

I tried doing what you said, but it still didn't work. i Forgot to mention earlier that I downloaded the eqemu patcher, and ive been having that problem about the everquest/patchsrv.dat file not being found whenever i load it up. If anyone could send me this file (if it is infact sendable) i'd appreciate it.

when you installed the patcher - did you actually point it into your c:\Program Files\Everquest directory? If its still not working - i could send you my EQfix.zip for you to unzip into your everquest folder, it should help you as a last resort..
