View Full Version : Something that should help Luclin etc. development for my DB

I've just created a parser utility which will convert ShowEQ logs (after some find/replace modification in a text editor) to data readable by my EQNPC parser (i.e data which can be added to eqspawns.txt). It only outputs name, level, location and zone data (since that's all the data there is in the log), but it will still save me a LOT of typing. Hopefully because of this my next DB version should have a lot more Luclin and possibly Velious data.
Anyone have any PoP zone ShowEQ logs?

If you can kind of point me in a direction to use ShowEQ I'll get it done. I've got some friends with POP and YKesha on EQLive. We're more than willing to help you get this information. I'll go do some searching on ShowEQ and see what I can find.

Showeq = linux. If you don't use/know linux, and if you don't have an extra computer on the network, I wouldn't try too hard to get the logs.

So far I've populated around half of Luclin - Shadeweaver's, Paludal, Hollowshade, Scarlet Desert, Twilight Sea, Fungus Grove,
Katta Castellum, Shadowhaven, Ssraeshza Temple and Akheva Ruins (Shar Vahl, the Bazaar and Nexus were already done).
The ShowEQ log parser has been incredibly useful, it's eliminated most of the
"grunt work" from populating zones, it now takes more like 30 minutes to set up a zone
(more for ones that have many spawn points for the same NPC type) rather than a day or so.
I'll release a finished version along with my next DB (it's not 100% straightforward to
use, the logs require some editing before they can be parsed, but it should still help other
DB creators)
