I am debating on switching to EQemu from the EQLive servers. Its been a little over 3 years since I have started playing EQ, but due to RL I need to say goodbye to EQ in a few months. I was wondering if playing (or servering) EQemu would let me see some of the zones that I missed out on or killing (soloing hehe) some mobs that I missed out on too. I loved the exploration and adventuring in EQ; I'm just sad I never got to see the "4 corners of Norrath" before I have to leave.

Would EQemu allow me to do what I want? Would a non-legit server allow me as much freedom as to solo <insert dead mob here> or duo whatever I decided to kill? Would it be best just to run my own server for some personal freedom (plus a few friends) before I leave EQ entirely?

And, lastly, is it possible to play EQemu or set up my own EQemu server and still play EQLive until I leave for good? or once I switch to EQemu, I have to leave the live servers too?

Thanks in advance for the info,

With Eqemu you can play EQemu and EQlive. You also can set up your own server and do whatever you wish on it. There are lots of other public Emu server that have a wide variety of options of what you can and cant do.

All the commands which you are able to do is located in the readme on the main page, commands include summoning any item you want, zoning to any zone, lvling to whatever lvl you want, etc... etc.... etc... I honostly think EQEmu is alot better than EQLive, there is unlimited possibilities!

So to answer your question, yes, you can do whatever you want, you can see all "4 corners of norrath" :D

I started EQEmu for the same exact reason as you, and I love it :)
