'Bad server name. Unkown reason.' i need help

I get the error error message "Login server responded with FatalError. Disabling reconnect. Error message: 'Bad server name. Uknown reason.'

I don't have a clue. I've tried just making a local server, but still no luck. thanks. ^_^

are you make a server that is all on one computer or a LAN server?
how are you playing on the server or on a LAN server?
if you dont know what a LAn server it is a EqEmu sever host a LAN so other on your LAN\WAN can log in to your server

Im not trying to make a server for my lan where you have to use the minilogin or anything special like that. Im just attempting to make the generic server that the readme covers.

ok frist of all your ip will be computer like 192.168.2.1 or something like 192.168.1.1 the way to find this out to go in to MSDOS and type IPCONFIG and you should get something like this:

windows XP has almost the same thing take you LAn IP and put it where you put ypur net IP also make sure that your boot5zone has the LAN IP of the computer host the Database and World.exe
also make you everone has there EQhost IPs are set to the computer that hosts minilogin.exe

well if you did what the readme said that i dont know whats going on with your server lol i wish i could make a internet server but in am stuck behind a router that has a fire hope you get it fix G'luck

150wpm? I highly doubt you've been tested for more than 1 minute at that speed. I once got a test to say I typed 750wpm, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's true. I just held down the a key on a fast computer.

You all are posting solutions to different problems, the simple solution to his error, which was a BAD SERVER NAME . . . . . meaning he added Server at the end of his server name, or something thats filtered from eqemu

All you have to do is put


This Servers Name

and it will automatically put it to

This Servers Name Server

If you make it like this

This Servers Name Server

and load your world.exe, your going to get the bad server name error.

So simply remove server from your server name
