Someone needs to make a decent >100%< legit server, with quests etc. And people would have to use the skills eg: to craft weapons etc. We need a proper roleplaying server. All this semi-legit and non-legit does my head in. What is the point of just being able to level your guy in 2 secs and summon whatever u want? Pretty gay if u ask me.
COME ON PEOPLE. WE NEED A SERVER THAT WILL LISTEN TO ITS PLAYERS AND IS FULLY LEGIT...

COME ON PEOPLE. WE NEED A SERVER THAT WILL LISTEN TO ITS PLAYERS AND IS FULLY LEGIT...Not everyone wants fully legit.. I am one of them. If you are so convinced that everyone wants this, why not run your own server? Why demand someone else do it for you?

No I haven't. In fact i understand it entirely. Like u said, u have to pay to play on Sony's servers. Now, what u described in your original point is basically EQLive, but for free. Now, why don't u just go play EQLive? For that $12 or whatever it is that u pay every month u get: 1) More server choices 2) More stable servers/zones
3) All the quests u could possibly want 4) 100% legitness
5) Trade skills 6) PoP AA 7) Disciplines 8 ) Complete databases
9) Fully populated zones 10) Loot tables on ALL mobs
Need i continue? The list goes on and on, buddy. EQLive is rife with things EQEmu is lacking. This is NOT a complaint, so i dont want some Dev to flame me. I quit EQLive for EQEmu cuz i like it better, and i think the Devs have done a freaking amazing job. But if u want EQLive, then GO PLAY EQLIVE and pay sony for all the sh** they can give u that Emu cant (at least not atm).
I play Semi-Legit and i love it. I personally don't see any point whatsoever to play Legit, but whats worse is wanting to play EQLive for free. Sorry, but not everything comes wrapped up in lil packages with bows on the top.

Buddy??? lol, i sense tense emotions.
Well u seem to have missed the point again. EQ Live is not free. I am thinking of starting my own server, but i'm wondering if my 512kbps broadband can handle it? It downloads at about 70kbps, so thats roughly about its transfer rate. Another thing is the computer i would host it from would be the same one i use for everything else (MSN Messanger etc).
What would be the verdict? Worth trying to create my own server?

Nobody is stoping you from starting your own. This really isn't the place to post about that. This is for server praise/complaints, not for requests. Im moving it...

Tense emotions? I meant it in a laid-back manner not in a hostile one. By all rights, feel free to start up yer own server, no one is stopping u.

actually your transfer rate is 512, but its kilobits not kilobytes

And its prolly 512 kbits only while downloading, not while uploading which could be a serious limitation for your players.

get a cable modem and a p3 at the minimium if you want to host a server...
as for real legit servers im sure some will pop up, they do tend to take more work, to be truly legit...

buy t1 or 1.5 mbit sdsl if you plan on hosting a legit server to hold a lot of people

100% legit, reasonable pvp, attempting extremely high quality, most likely old-world. Wont be out for a few months though...
