How can I play without the patcher?

Here is a simple FAQ to solve all of your questions:


Q. How can I find what files are neccesary to revert to the EQEmu patch so I can give it to a friend?

A. You can't. That is considered warez (the illegal distribution of files) and there is a good chance you will be banned if you talk about it.


Q. Does anyone have a working version of EQ?

A. Yes.


Q. Can you send it to me?

A. No, yet again that's warez. Stop talking.


Q. When will the patcher be released?

A. When the developer decides to release it. (Hint. If you stop asking questions like the ones in thie FAQ it may be released sooner!)


Q. Will we have to pay for the patcher?

A. No.

I totally dont understand this. We need files to play, you have the files, but if we want them it becomes illegal? Man Im lost, Ill go read more threads and piece this mystery together.

Distributing a company's intellectual property (the files) is warez. No different than if they'd linked to direct downloads of the CD's. Make more sense now?
