*EDIT* This PC session is no longer needed.
~Merth 7/19/2003

I need someone to help with a very specific packet collecting session. If you are able, please follow these instructions to the letter.

Requirements
* 2 EQLive Accounts
* Each account running on a different machine (for separation of logs)
* Windows XP/2k/2k3 on each machine
* Latest Packet Collector: Download it via ftp at *EDITED*. This is new as of last night.
* Computer saavy (ability to understand instructions below)
* Empty Arena Zone (no other people in there)

Packet Collecting Instructions
#1 - On account #1, run a character to the arena zone off of Lake Rathe
#2 - On account #2, run a character on the same server to Lake Rathe, standing just outside of the arena zone
#3 - Camp each character out to char select screen
#4 - Press Alt+Enter on each machine to get EQ *into* windowed mode
#5 - On each machine, press control+alt+delete to get out of the window
#6 - Start up a command prompt on each machine and navigate to your packet collector directory
#7 - On machine #1, use this command, subsituting the correct IP address:
PacketCollector.exe machine1.ip.address.com -o all > MachineA.txt
#8 - On machine #2, use this command, subsituting the correct IP address:
PacketCollector.exe machine2.ip.address.com -o all > MachineB.txt
#9 - Enter World with the character camped in the arena
#10 - Enter World with the character camped in lake rathe
#11 - As soon as both characters are logged in, have the character in Lake Rathe zone INTO the arena
#12 - As soon as both characters are in the arena, stop packet collecting by pressing control+c on each DOS window
#13 - Upload the two files (MachineA.txt, MachineB.txt) to the same FTP once done

If you can follow these instructions to the bone, I would really appreciate it.

Could I ask why this needs to be done? I am willing to do, but just confused why it is needed.. do you need the zone lines?

I think he needs zone protocols, for recipient of zone-in information and for a 3rd party who notices that you zoned in. This would build a nearly complete opcode batch to be implemented.

Yeah, what he said. I also want to see what packets a client gets sent when a new client enters the zone.

Nobody has taken me up on this yet, boo!

I'd like to add something to it: Before pressing control+c, could you have the character just entering the arena move around a little? Keep the first character absolutely stationary - not moving or rotating at all.

I have about 4 computers all that have Win2k, Winxp pro/home and i have access to about 6 EQLive accounts. I can run any of your packet collecting things wherever, whenever. If you still need this done i will be more than happy to run it, although this post is fairly old. Just post something and i will be checking this section frequently. I can easily run this. Also I'm behind a router and using NAT, so when i type in the 1st machine ip do i put the Internal or External Ip, i'm guessing Internal, but rather be safe.

AA ability hotkeys like manaburn, etc
Bazaar commands
Guild commands
Trading
Pet commands
All the skills from the various classes (sneak, hide, forage, etc)

Exp update
Skill update
Control Boat
Board/Unboard boat
LoY LFG tool
LoY Guild Management tool

Thats all I can think of at the moment. If anyone can collect those we would greatly appreciate it. Be sure to use the -i option to ignore 0x0022 and 0x0039 packets and try to packetcollect only the action your pcing so we can easily tell whats being sent. If you could email it to dev@eqemu.net and CC me at lethalencounter@eqemupvp.net Ill get it added to the dev cvs so all the devs can help work on it.
Thanks!

The commands themselves are well-known, it's actually USING them that needs to be packet collected. ;)

I have a question for items, do i need to just get a link? right click on them, what do i need to do for the items? Also what program do you use to open the packets?

Add the LoY dye feature to that list also

edit: didn't mean to submit =P

I need Player Profiles (0x006b), before and after receiving a new discipline. A Warrior Monk or Rogue close to reaching level 30 is prefrered, but not required.

I also believe triggered AA skills tobe stored in the same portion of the Player Profile, so Profiles from before and after aquiring a triggered AA skill are also needed.
