Backup possibilities?

Hello all, im very new to all of this EQEmu stuff..just found it yesterday. Which means I am fully patched on EQLive including some of the predownloads for LDoN.

If I can find a friend that hasnt patched since Dec 2002 and copy his EQ Folder onto my computer, can i use that?

Technically you're not asking anyhere here for warez, so it's not fully against the rules :)

The Dec 02 version works with 0.4.4.

The current version works (with 0.5.0 dev) if you still have the eqmain.dll from the patch before(which I assume you don't). Asking for that one would be against the rules.

Wait a bit, don't patch unless a dev says so, and get the 0.5.0. release version when it's done. That one hopefully works with the current live patch.
