Starting a server

All I want to do is start a PERSONAL server with only me and to give myself GM privileges. Can anyone offer a step-by-step way of doing this? The readme didn't seem to help me very much. Thanks.

I dont think anyone is going to volunteer to retype what has been typed 1000 times before. Not trying to be rude, but these forums will have all the information in the world you need.
