All the posts I have seen regarding use of the 0.50 are related to logging on and playing on eqemu servers - Is it also possible to set up a local network with this version? (I see no new minilogin, boot5zones, etc.) - I'm aware of the database changes, and I hope this question wasn't answered elsewhere - I did a search!

Thanks in advance

Minilogon no longer works with the latest EQLive client. I don't know of any plans for a new local login server, so you're likely stuck with the public logon server.

I might fix minilogin to work, but I have been too busy coding the emu to fix something that I feel is unnecessary at this time. Once the emu fully works under .5.0 is when minilogin will be needed for some people, but right now its very buggy and not very usuable for anything but bug fixing.

i can run a local 5.0 server with minilogin on win98, 1 or 2 machines, login and play...kinda play, my DB dont have many spawns in it yet and items arn't done being programmed yet.

BTW is the minilogin source gonna be posted? :D

Hey /dev/n00b,

Why did you guys decide to keep minilogin closed source? I tried searching the boards for an answer but didn't find any answers.

because the source isnt GPLed. because it wasnt written by any of the current devs. and a whole slew of other reasons
