How long do you mad programming geniuses think it will be till you have a win32 version of the 5.0 emu? I'd love to try the version you're all working on but the ones on the server list are all locked and I don't have linux and don't know enough about compiling programs to mess with the CVS version. But I'm eagerly awaiting the oppourtunity to play with this new version.
I guess I must wait till a win32 version is available for download or for one of those servers running it on the eqemu list to unlock. I hope one of the two happens soon because the hype I've been reading is getting me excited! Keep up the great work!

How about I repeat this.. AGAIN..
These releases are NOT for playing, they are for the people that help audit the code and bug fix on the forums or via patches(ie, those that know how to compile!)
If you do NOT code for this project at all, 5.* isn't for you yet!

Thanks for the replies. I kinda figured out that they are locked because they are being used for development. I really just wondered how soon you thought a player version would be ready. That was all. I stated before that I'm not a programmer. And I don't plan to become one for this project even if I have the ability to learn all of this. I think you guys are doing a great job and personally I'm too busy being a mom to get involved in this kind of work.
But I'd rather use the Emu than pay whatever Sony's charging these days to play the live game. And I'd rather play an up-to-date version if it's available than an older version. So, I asked about it. One thing I love about the emu is that I can play it offline during a spare moment without having to tie up my phone line. And I'd love to do this with the "EQLive" version of the Emu.
Keep up the good work. - Astartae
