Can anyone tell me if it's possible to switch a database from the HQ emu to the EQemu database and vice versa? If so what all would it take to do that?

My next question is about the HQ emu. Thier boards are all but basically dead over there so that's why I am asking it here. I know someones probably messed around with it and had this problem. I started it up once and loaded a zone just fine and everthing, but none of the other zones outside of the orginal one I created a char. in will load for some reason. Not even when I create new chars. with different starting points. I can only seem to load that one zone. Anyone have any idea how I can fix that?

I am stuck using that emu for the time being until I upgrade my system becuase running the data base with mysql seems to lag EQ to hard. Since the other one doesn't is why I was wondering about the data base transfers between the two. However I still have that zone loading problem to fix.

Also while I am wondering about it I may as well ask this question too. Is it possible using that program to run a server on EQemu? Has anyone ever done that? If so then how do you set that up?

Asked in this forum becuase the descriptions of what the other help forums are for didn't really seem to fit the bill for what I needed to know.

Thanks in advance. 8)

Wow, I didn't think it was such a touchy subject like that here being EQemu is more of a database project being with mysql acting as the actual emulator and HQ being more of a stand alone emulator program. I asked there before, but that was afew months ago so if no ones answered over there odds are they aren't gonna. I guess from what you just said I ain't getting no help here either on it looks like. Figures, that'd be my luck here lately. Anyway thanks for the tip man. I apriciate it. 8)

Yes, both formats and a little ingenuity, if you have to ask it's not with your ability.

Not a clue, wrong website this is eqemu.

So run it on another machine, or write the code eqemu would need to access the myism files directly w/o the mysql overhead.

No.

If it's that much envolved in doing it then your probably right.

I know that and explained why I asked here. I mean who are we kidding? Everyone here has tried it out atleast once.

If I had another machine do you honestly think I'd still be trying to get that little sorry program to run right? If you can tell me how to access the myisn files directly to run it then even better. I'd be much greatful for it. That would atleast put me a step further from the agrivation I have now.
No.
